Run by Dyfrig Peris and Jennie Corr, Peris and Corr is an eco friendly t-shirt printing and textile business based in Snowdonia, North Wales. We are committed to running an environmentally friendly and ethical business and continually work to lower our impact on the environment.
We offer a water-based screen-printing service and can print onto t-Shirts, tote bags, babies clothes etc. We also design and make our own range of handmade textile products and greeting cards.
Water-based, eco-friendly t-shirt printing service
All our printing is done by hand using 100% water-based inks. The majority of screen printers use plastisol inks, which contain PVC and phthalates that are harmful to the environment. The inks we use contain no toxic chemicals and are also free from lead and other heavy metals. They do not contain ozone-depleting chemicals such as CFCs and HCFCs aromatic hydrocarbons or any volatile solvents, and as the inks are water-based the screens can be cleaned with water rather than solvents.
All the T-Shirts which we supply are ethically sourced and made from either cotton, organic cotton, organic in conversion or sustainable bamboo. We mainly print on Continental Clothing garments, who is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation that exists to promote fair labour conditions in the garment industry.
Organic Textile Products
We make all our own products by hand from certified organic cotton which we source from 'Organic Cotton' in Machynlleth, or from a blend of organic cotton and hemp which we source from Hemp Fabric UK. Our Organic Fairtrade Cotton tea towel are made in India and are sourced from Bishopton Trading in Bristol, we print them in our studio. All our designs are screen printed with Permaset water-based inks.
Why Organic Cotton.
'Conventional' cotton farming uses synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides and is responsible for the contamination of soil and water. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides or any toxic substances so it protects the local environment, population and wildlife.
Pesticides have a severe impact on the health of farmers and the local population. It is estimated by the World Health Organization that nearly 3 million workers in agriculture in the developing world experience poisoning from pesticides every year, and that 18,000 of them die as a result of this.
Pesticides are usually bought on credit, so if the farmer's crop fail they end up in debt. They also reduce soil fertility so that more chemicals are needed to encourage crops to grow, thus leading to even more expenses for farmers.

Recycle and reuse.
We work hard to minimise our waste. Any waste we do produce is reused or recycled wherever possible and any organic matter is composted. All our stationery and greeting cards are printed on 100% recycled paper and we use biodegradable or recycled packaging where we can.
Renewable Energy
Our electricity is supplied by Ecotricity. Ecotricity are 'dedicated to changing the way electricity is made'. The money customers spend is invested in clean energy 'made from the elements, the Wind, The Sun and the Sea – and Green Gas; made from food waste and from algae'.
Ecotricity offer competitive rates on electricty for homes and for businesses.
